posts a link to Tecnimap 2006,
a conference of the public administration in Spain with
representatives from the ITC community. What is Tecnimap? TECNIMAP is the
conference for those involved in the Spanish Civil Service to share
ideas and experiences about modernisation and the application of
information technologies in public administration. TECNIMAP started in
1989 and is an event held every two years. The first conference was
in Madrid, and the latest was in Murcia in 2004. This meeting, the
ninth, will be held from 30th May to 2nd June in the Palacio de
Congressos in Seville. About 10,000 participants are expected to
attend and 200 companies will be showing off their products and
solutions for the public administration bodies. The sub-title of the
conference, “Information technologies for the modernisation of
public administration,” is more relevant today than ever
before. Electronic administration or e-government is seen everywhere
as the most important means of modernisation and innovation in the
public services and in the relationship between citizens and
companies with the administration. Very important advances have
already been made in some areas, and everything points to the
possibility of a radical transformation in the efficiency of
administrative processes, benefiting the users of these services. Professional public
employees as users of ITC services and leaders of the three
Administrations will be meeting in Seville, together with academics,
experts in public administrations and companies working on the
technology. They will be thinking about the challenges and
opportunities that are currently available in the sector, and the
path towards the simplification and integration of processes that
will make the lives of citizens easier and the administration more
efficient. |
