rb_cdio working (rb_cdio en operaciones!)

clbustos in  Php y otras yerbas writes that he has now found rb_cdio in the Sourceforge project  ibcdio . This is an extension of Ruby in C that is used to access the libraries cdio and  iso9660 that read information from the header of a CD-ROM. At the same time, the library can be used to access  cddb/freedb servers as well as local database  using the project  ruby-freedb

Traceability of requirements (Seguimiento de Requerimientos / Traceability)

JorgeBec in  Ingenieria de Software reminds us of the importance of being able to trace requirements into the deliverable software products and vice versa. His flow chart summarizes this important point of software engineering.

Article about comments in code (Artículo sobre los comentarios)

Cesar Tardaguila in  design-nation comments on an article by Mike Clark called  "Write Sweet-Smelling Comments". Too many comments are often a sign of poorly written code that may need to be refactored. Also, like many programmers that I know, Cesar wants to read the code and not the comments that may either duplicate the code or diverge from it after a number of iterations. This opinion conflicts a bit with the type of documentation provided by systems like javadoc.

[Personally, I like the approach taken by literate programming in Leo where the comments are considered as important as the code but are kept separate in an outlining editor. ]
