These metrics evaluate the properties concerned with the need for information. There are three types of these metrics:
- Desirability. The probability that the information contained in a web site will be needed within a specific time interval.
- Survivability. The probability that an element of the site will be deleted in a specific time period.
- Rate of change. The age of a web site is the difference in state between two times, that is it is a measure of the changes that have taken place. An old web site is likely to change.

José Luis Sánchez in avemundi writes that due to a change in subject at his university, he is now planning to change his development environment. He is currently using xHarbour+FWH. He has recently installed ubuntu on his PC and looking around for a suitable development environment has decided on mono.
