Introduction to web metrics Part 7
Introducción a las métricas web (Parte VII)

jleyva in Métricas Web continues his series on web metrics with a summary of the metric, Information Theoretic.

These metrics evaluate the properties concerned with the need for information. There are three types of these metrics:

  • Desirability. The probability that the information contained in a web site will be needed within a specific time interval.
  • Survivability. The probability that an element of the site will be deleted in a specific time period.
  • Rate of change. The age of a web site is the difference in state between two times, that is it is a measure of the changes that have taken place. An old web site is likely to change.

This series of articles was based on:
[DHYA, 2002] DHYANI, D., KEON, W. AND S. BHOWMICK, S. "A Survey of Web Metrics". ACM Computing Surveys, Vol. 34, No. 4, Diciembre 2002, pp. 469-503
