(when things are going badly...) , Rafa Carmona in Thefull says ... remember that they could still get worse... or not? The cartoon on his page expresses the feelings of many programmers (and with which I can easily sympathize as I remember some particularly troublesome projects from my not so distant past). Javier Gutiérrez Chamorro (Guti) in his Bitácora de Guti says those programs in C++ that don't use object orientation are commonly described as developments in C+ or C+-. Such programs benefit from the availability of more modern compilers than are available for C and benefit from these characteristics: In addition this development method doesn't require a complicated object model design and protects against the types of errors that are common in C, so is ideally suited for delivering small and simple applications. |
